Whether competing in sports or practicing and teaching Capoeira for the past 22 years, even enduring osteoarthritis and multiple joint surgeries hasn't deterred my commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

Observing the global rise in overweight and obesity, I felt compelled to take action. With extensive business and marketing experience across various countries and industries, with FOLKBIT, I merge my business and marketing expertise with my passion for wellness, selling an eco-friendly gym towel that contributes to changing and preventing obesity in Australia.

By reinvesting 50% of our profits, FOLKBIT aims to help as many Australians as possible understand that obesity is a systemic, complex disease, not an individual's fault, and one for which they should seek help.

 

We aim to reverse the trend and reduce the current rates of overweight and obesity in Australia, which today affect 67% of adults and 25% kids. If nothing is done, sadly, these numbers are set to continue growing rapidly.

 

While promoting a positive body image is crucial, maintaining a healthy weight is vital for good health, as it reduces the risk of preventable chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular issues, and various types of cancer.
